Warm bodies

Harris has quite a number of 'raya's envelopes' by now..He is blessed to be surrounded with not only gorgeous but generous aunts and uncles- Alhamdulillah..To avoid confusion between his and my money, I've decided to keep all of his money in an envelope.. Y'know? Just in case..

By now he already collected 11 envelopes and to sum it up he has got almost RM500 in just 4 days..Pheww.. So my mak asked me to keep them in Harris' Yippie's bank account..Wise choice but I know that it's okay for me to spend some on his favorite things, such as BOOK!

So since my kak long is free until next week (she's a teacher too) I asked her to join me in my quest.. =P
We went to Book Access and purchased a few books for our children and then decided to hang out at the coffee shop.. Surprisingly, the barista gave me a free Starbucks' card..Really? Is he doing me a favor or it is free for everyone now? Whatever..Bought hot mocha and caramel machiatto for kak long and we sat there for an hour.. We talked about a lot of things that I'm quite shocked to know a few of her stories about herself.. Wow.. It's weird to know that you knew just little about people who are supposedly be close to you..Hmm.. Nobody's fault for this but I wish that I could spend more time with her.. It's hard to say, but I think I love my sister.. Hmmm...

Went back home shortly after that just to find that Harris is having flu.. As I hugged him, I can feel his body's temperature is a tad warmer than he normally is..It felt like hugging a warm boiled egg..Literally.. Gave him some medicine and we fell asleep together..He kept holding my neck and put his cheek on my left arm.. ;-)

This Thursday I'm going to meet Alia and Afiq to watch The Conjuring..It has been ages since I last watched movie in cinema..This would be the first step in bringing myself closer to a heathy friendship zone..To get involve and to spend time with them.. I think that I deserve this..I know that Harris wouldn't mind as long as I bring something home for him..A bucket of KFC maybe? Hihihi

Alright then, you do the judging whilst I'm going to take my sleep now..Do you know that sharing a duvet with your child is the most amazing feeling in the world? Sharing? It's more like fighting for your warmth the whole night..Harris, he is a fighter..Hehe..

Night lovelies.. =)

Scream: Old!!!

You know that you are getting old when half of your classmates have more than one child by now..And to witness your own son flirting in front of you is really an eye opener.. Heck, I'm old! A good discussion sesh with my friend Ayu about how fast time flies..How fast does a child grow..How in a blink of eyes our friends have reproduced aggressively..Wait what? Just kidding!

LOL

Harris is getting better with his vocabulary.. Or at least he's trying to..Alhamdulillah for at least we are able to communicate..at least he could tell me what he wants or what he needs.. Good enough for me~

Talked to kak long earlier today about my concern regarding Harris' speech ability..or the limited conversation we have for the time being..She told me to stop worrying about rubbish like that. She even said that Harris is doing fine and there's no need to consult a speech therapist.. Being able to tell us what he feels instead of making a conversation is fine..It just proved that he's not a talkative person so we should just stop make him one..Let him be..Let him gets his own space to grow up..Okay kak long, point taken!

Well maybe sometimes he really annoys me when he refused to be a co-operative son, yknow? In dealing with his mommy's hobby in capturing memories, for example: like this one? I think that he's ready to make friend with other people too..He danced with Ayu and Ain.. He even forced them to sing his nursery rhymes despite the fact that all of them know nothing about the songs! That's cute too..Watching my friends beralah to his requests.. Hehehe..

AH: Heck, I'm done with them poses mommy.. Let me play The Sim already, please...

So overall, this is me..A parent who wants her son to be good and happy in everything he does and a son who's dependent mentally and emotionally to his mommy.. We will try to figure out everything together since he was born without a manual..Hihi..*okay lame joke detected*

Mak said, we were born for each other, well technically he was born to complete me..To help me learn more about patience, unconditional love and of course sleep deprivation.. Hehehe.. Sleep can wait and so are other things in life.. Glad to have good support system around me..

That is the best blessing from God to me..Alhamdulillah.. =)

16th Ramadhan~!!

I know it's been a little slow going with my posts recently, but it's been pretty busy around here this Ramadhan! Also, son has recently decided to give up his afternoon nap, and there went about two hours of time to work on blog posts and baking and making more cookies.. hew hew..   So we've been having fun going to the pool or park instead (it's a huge benefit of my husband working here in this estate where the management has provided these facilities).. Despite that this is a fasting month and both mommy and his papa are fasting, Harris is always pulling his 'tired act'

Well, Shah called it 'merangkak keluar dari rahim' pose.. hehehe

Anyways, Harris is 4 today..well his actual birth date is 5th September but if we refer tu Islamic Calendar today is also his birth date..16th Ramadhan.. =)

He was being moody and a bit cranky last night..He refused to sleep next to his papa and demanded to sleep on my tummy for the whole night..(do you miss it baby?Listening to mommy's heartbeat?) hehe.. I look at him now I sometimes have to take a second glance because he has changed so much. That chubby baby boy is turning into a young and handsome boy. He is so curious and so smart. I have to pinch myself still that I was so blessed to have such a sweet and healthy child. Yes,he has his moments but what who doesn't? even his papa has his sweet own crankiness sometimes..LOL..

So today--We are going to have fun, eat some KFC, and blow some candles. This will be another great birthday to remember. We are going to poke a few holes in those chickens and yeah we'll insert a few candles inside them drumsticks..

ps: I'm sure there will be a few people here that will judge us, but hell...

Okay, so that's it for now...I hope that all of u who are fasting out there will drink more and stay healthy.. Happy fasting~!

Hello there~!

Well, inspired by this photo of Helena Bonham Carter (my idol..forever will be..)

I made this...

Well technically, they were both made for different purposes.. Helena was trying to show her 'immortality' whilst I'm trying to prove that both me and my son are sharing the very similar genetics.. He does look like me - a lot! right?

Trust me, I did have those dark circle-free eyes when I was younger..After all the aging process those dark circles decided to stay as my trade mark..Immortal dark circle... =/

Anyways, we are having a great time here in hubby's place.. I'm enjoying cooking for our iftar's meals.. He really knows how to motivate me to cook..Well both of us are obviously fasting while cooking them foods..So we are basically just follow our hunch...and we both decided to laugh over the over salty soup or a bit burnt fried chickens.. Nevermind.. Harris never complaints.. He'll just spit out everything  that tastes non-chicken from his mouth.. Clever!

What else..?
I've become a baker for the past few days..It all started when mak bought me the awesome Kenwood mixer..I'm so happy that I just cant describe it.. This has been a dream come true for me! I always imagining a beautiful mixer on my kitchen counter and now..Huzzzaaaaa~~!!! It was followed by the arrival of the new oven..well the rest is just history..Wonderful history..Seriously I would just opted for the cheap little hand mixers but I did pinned up the KitchenAid red mixer on my notice board at my room..I guess she noticed that somehow and felt sorry for her daughter.. Hehe..Really appreciate it mak.. Well so far I already made 2 cakes and 2 types of cookies.. Love the result.. I'm a Martha Stewart  already..Lucky me that I'm surrounded with talented bakers as my friends..Thanks Ilyana for catering my needs regardless how late it was..

Needy me, lovely you..

*ketuk sudip di udara~*

ps:I'll update more about those handsome recipes and some photos along.. x0x0

Salam Ramadhan to all of you readers..

Sunny Sunday

It's late.I know that already.. But what is early then?

Just finished watching 'Take This Waltz', what a heavy storyline.. Shouldn't watch this..What a great mistake! Arghhh.. The Uptown's DVD seller told me that this is one of the latest hilarious movies..Shouldn't trust him ever again..

Today, well I mean Sunday was one of those tiring days..But it was filled with happiness and love and friends..

Alhamdulillah..

Allahuakbar..

Went to Hanis' Bachelorette Party..She is one of the prettiest faces I've known..Perky and sweet young lady..She's so lucky to have Alia as her sister..To experience loads of good things together.. =)

It has been a while since I had the chance to be around my friends..It's either the timing or the occasion that has been holding me back..I'm so damn happy today that I cant sleep..I'm so happy that Shah is around..Alia is around.Harris was such a good sport today.. I wanted to stay longer but then Shah said that he has to go back to Johor already..He left at 6 and I started to feel all alone again..

I hate it.

Cried and smiled. Harris is such a life saver..I dont know how to deal with life without him..He is truly a gift from Allah..The cure and the sugar to my bland life..or jalapeno sometimes..hehe

I'm working on his social skills.. Being the only child (currently), I know that he hates sharing and to be in crowded and loud place..Public place to be exact..Partly it was my fault - for keeping him close to me -ONLY.. So glad watching him exchanging smiles to Iman and Dahlia today.. watching him exhale his breath heavily while watching Dahlia took over his paper cup..and to see him smirked when Iman's using his drinking bottle..These kids will grow up full with their uncles and aunts love..I can see that.. =)

~Kids~

Well I wish I could be a kid again..Free from any problems.. my best friend told me that every dark cloud has a silver lining.. She said that every family has their own problems..Alia.She knew me damn too well that sometimes she scares me..The thing is between me and her, I will totally ignore everything she said, denying her and then my heart will sing her words back to my brain..In the most dramatic melody..Hmm.. Seriously, I knew that God keeps her by my side as my pillar.. My cheerleader. =)

...and for today, I'll just count my blessings and be patient waiting for every good thing to fall back to their places..In sya Allah..

ps: Ramadhan is just around the corner.. May Allah bless me with good health to perform my duty to Him..

4 ∞ & ➸

I'm a bit overwhelmed tonight.. I know that I've put a few people in unnecessary 'worrying' phase..I'm so selfish, what on earth am I thinking?

Talked to my friends and I'm a bit okay now.. Thanks Alia for being there for me..Thanks Ayu..and thanks Ramadhan for the wake up call.. I really need that somehow.. Hehe..

Sorry guys..

Anyways, I found my hard disc that went missing for a year..Actually I lost the cable and the rest is history.. Hehe.. So, as I was busy reviewing our old photos which include our wedding photos and Harris' photos when he was a baby, I've got the feeling of adding a new baby in our family.. Hehe

This is Harris when he was a week old, btw..

Ehem.. Let me repeat that again..I think I'm ready for a second baby in our family.. I dont wanna discuss this matter out loud actually..Well, here in my blog obviously..Hehe.. But who cares? Yknow, I think that it would be easier for us to get the baby while I'm doing my master because once I'm back in my work-life I wont get the freedom to raise him/her all day long.. 3 months for confinement? Not good enough for me.. =p

Harris was so chubby back then.. Look at this photo.. I wanna squeeze his betissssssss....

and I came across this photo, his papa does love him more than I could imagine..

and I love both of then more than my life..

This is the new challenge for me.. No kidding!

Help Me God..

Do you know how much we, the parents meant for our children?
Raising a child is not an experiment nor a try/error quest.. It came with a lot of responsibility.. Everyone can raise children, (even a cat can do it), but can we help them being a true muslim?

(Okay, this entry might sound like an usrah session, so call me ustazah if you want to.. It's a blessing anyways )

Wallahi, I want Harris to be a real muslim. To be the caliph in our small family. In shaa Allah.. I hate it when people love to judge me from my past.. I had to admit this, I'm stupid back then or in Arab, jahil.. But Alhamdulillah, few years back I was an English teacher in one of the Sekolah Menengah Agama in Negeri Sembilan.. At first I was lost, during the assembly students and all teachers will recite Yasin and few other 'Zikir Munajat'... Deep in my heart I whined, 'Is it necessary?' But soon after that I joined them. I recited Yasin with them.. At first I felt burdened with it but Alhamdulillah, it has become a sweet ritual for me..

Went to an usrah session during the Little Caliphs training the other day.  It was really an eye opener for me.. If you have a child, please read the points I have from the usrah session:

1. Give gifts to your daughter(s) first.
2. Play with your children. It is narrated from the Prophet: “The person who has a child, should behave like a child with him.”
3. Do not hit your child when they cry.
4. Kiss your child.
5. Say Assalamualaikum to your child(ren)
6. Do not ridicule the actions of your child, nor call them silly.
7. Do not order or forbid your child too much, as this emboldens them and leads to rebellious behaviour when older.
8. Build your children’s characters by respecting them.
9. Keep your promises.
10. Keep a close watch and control over their actions with others and prevent those actions that increase one’s sexual instinct
11. Spoiling a child creates weakness, and a lack of will and determination.
12. Do not force our children to do things they may not have the capability of doing.
13. Pray for your children, both during pregnancy and afterwards.
14. Reminders and requests should be given with gentleness and softness.
15. Show respect and good interaction between parent and child
16. A good role model is someone who adjusts their children’s desires wisely and with the correct techniques.
17. Foster the faith of your child in Allāh (swt)
18. Stay away from wrist-grabbing and bossy behaviour with children.
19. To foster the innate nature of telling the truth in children.
20. Do not use fear as a method of raising your child, as this causes damage to their personality and leads to psychological problems.
21. Cuddling and kissing a child is one of their soul-foods. Kiss them and wipe their tears with love.
22. Make our children understand the indecency of sin and encourage the child’s good actions.
23. The beds of children of 6 years and above should be separated from each other, even if they are both daughters or both sons.
24. Keep a healthy and loving family.
25. There should be a difference in the order and expectations of the behaviour of a child inside the home, and out. At home, allow the child to play freely.
26. Always bear the unexpected behaviour of your child to a limit and do not always take the mistakes of your chid to be unforgivable, so that you are not always compelled to punish.
27. When instructing your child, don’t mention the names of other children constantly, or compare them with others.
28. Stories are a useful and important method of encouraging good qualities and characteristics,
29. We shouldn't  punish our child too much.
30. Make your children perform solat from 7 years, and fast from 9 years, either half day or more or less, depending on their abilities.
31. Do not be quick to accuse your children of lying because until 5 years, real lying or lying out of self-interest is rare; rather it is due to their active imagination, related to playing or creating astonishment in others, or to the child’s exploration of the self.
32. Do not condemn a child who has tired you with their questions, as this weakens their sense of curiousity.
33. Try not to quarrel, especially in front of the child, as this troubles them greatly and affects their personality.
34. Children have a particular fear of the word death, don’t speak constantly of your death,
35. Find out about your child’s talents and develop these as much as possible.
36. In terms of wordly aspects, do not over-saturate your child so that they go on the wrong path, nor under do it, as both these methods are dangerous.
37. The single most important cause of the happiness of the child is the kindness and affection from the parents.
38. It is important that the parents give freedom and independence to their children according to their capabilities, so that they develop their initiative, innate independence and self-trust. At the same time, one must be careful not to exceed the limits so that children bring harm to themselves.
39. Raising your child properly to love Allah and His prophets.
40. Teach your children the Qur’an.

Subhanallah.. Every details are there in the Quran aren't they?.. I want to be a better person and of course, to guide and raise Harris as a good muslim.. In shaa Allah.. Pray for us. =)
